I’m
going to keep this short and sweet, because I know I could go on forever…
For the past
5 years this space has been the best (and sometimes the worst) of me. This
space has provided a place for me to write about everything that caught my attention and sparked a reaction. This
blog was the essence of who I was....
You
may be asking yourself, “Why is she referring to this blog in the past tense?”
Well that’s because today, on the fifth anniversary, this is my last post.
For
the last five years this blog has been everything to me. It has changed and
grown with me. But recently, I’ve come to terms with the fact that I have
outgrown this space. Knowing when it’s time to move on is important, and today
is the day for me to do just that.
I
would like to thank you, the reader. (And I must give a special shout out to my
Dad. If no one else ever read anything on this blog, he ALWAYS did.) Without
your constant support throughout the last five years, this blog wouldn’t be as
special to me as it is. Every post that was read, shared, liked, and commented
on was a source of motivation in more ways than one. The countless emails I
received from readers thanking me for sharing my stories is what kept this blog
going. And it’s what always helped me stay focused on The Essenceof Me’s
purpose.
But
this is not the end of my online writing career. In the distant future, I plan
to blog again. But I can’t promise or confirm when that will happen. Right now
I need to experience life without running back to my computer to document it on
here. And in the midst of doing that, if or when life brings me back to
blogging, it will take place on TamikaBurgess.com.
In
the meantime, be sure to like myFacebook pageand follow me on Twitter. This
is where I will post my various contributions for sites such as: BoriquaChicks, Fearless
Leon, Ain’t I Latina?, and anything else. My
social media pages are also where you can find out the latest information on my
book (yes, I’m still working on it).
Also,
I have no plans to delete this blog. So feel free to still read, re-read,
share, and recommend posts to your friends. And occasionally I will share some
of my favorite posts on my various social media pages.
So
until next time... Thank you and goodbye (for now).
